Would you be able to create something similar, with the left column having the same options?

In a nutshell, nope! Let me explain.

To get the options on the left hand side I would have to develop a script that output all the categories. Fine for small sites but some clients have extremely large sites and such a mod would bring the site speed down to a crawl.

Having said that, there is light at the end of the tunnel and that would be to pop over to the price tapestry forum and searching for the required mods - price search dropdown box, list of categories, list of popular products, etc.

Then, these call all be integrated into a template with a sidebar such as athletic blues or chique canvas by editing sidebar.php.

Thanks for your reply. I am currently using Forest Shadows and Magazine Tycoon. Do any of these use a side bar? I am using forest shadows at the moment, is it possible to add a side bar to this?

Magazine Tycoon kind of has one though you need to do two things.

Firstly, edit footer.php and at around line 13, add:

before

Secondly, create a new file in the html folder called sidebar.php

That's it. Put some dummy text into sidebar.php, upload and test. I do believe this should work.

You can then edit sidebar.php to include mods found over at Price Tapestry.

I'm afraid not as that hasn't got a sidebar menu coded into it. The Magazine Tycoon template had the search bar on the left which allows a sidebar to be easily added.

Please contact me if you have a list of design modifications you would like. I'm sure we can work something out, rather than leaving you in the lurch.
