Installing Our Templates
Here's a quick and easy guide on how to install our templates. It is assumed that you have installed Price Tapestry onto a web server.
We recommend only installing templates on fresh, new installations of Price Tapestry so not to affect any modifications you may have made.
Always make a backup of your Price Tapestry installation before installing our templates or any of your own modifications.
Step 1 - Download The Template
All our templates are distributed in 'zip' file format. You will need to have unzipping software on your computer. We recommend Winzip or PowerArchiver.
Your download link will be sent to you via email. This is a unique link that only you have access to. It also expires so you have to download your template before the time limit is up. Please note that once you have downloaded the zip file, it itself does not expire and you can use it as much as you like on your own Price Tapestry websites.
Once downloaded, unzip the contents of the template. All zip files contain the following files:
- A html folder
- An images folder
- index.php
- default.css
Step 2 - Upload The Template
Upload the contents of this file to the same folder you uploaded Price Tapestry to. If you uploaded Price Tapestry to the root server, simply upload these files to the root.
Please note that these files overwrite Price Tapestry files.
Step 3? No, It's Now Installed And Live On Your Website!
It really is as simple as that. We have included two new files within the html file that you can edit, if you so wish.
blurb.php is where you can write a paragraph or two about what your site is all about. This is shown on the home page of your Price Tapestry website.
adsense.php is where you can add Google AdSense code, Azoogle ad code, AuctionAds code, affiliate banner code, etc. This gets displayed at the top of every page, if you choose to use it. A guide to installation can be found here.
These files are already built into the template so if you don't want to use them, just leave the files empty.
